    iwillbowtonoone:

check out my latest interview with mark merriman and louie johnston from australian hardcore bruisers and monarch records latest signing - endworld.
me - what are your names and what part do you play in the band?
mark - my name is mark merriman and im the vocalist!
louie - im louie johnston and i play the shred dicer machine!
me - when was the band formed?
mark - around 1300 AD but it wasnt until late december 2010 that we banded together to create SUPERMOSHWORLD.
me - who came up with naming the band “endworld”?
louie - mark is the idiot who called us endworld, he wanted something super brutal to match his hair cut. ;)
me - which bands/artists influence you personally?
mark - blink 182, pierce the veil, good charlotte and demolisher.
me - what is the scene like over in brisbane? and is there any other local talent we should know about?
mark - DEAD. sorry brisbane kids but youre all too concerned with your haircuts and drama haha. i cant go to a show without younger kids looking down on me because i have a fringe even though i was going to shows when they were in primary school.
louie - everyone preaches love and unity but writes us off as soon as their sets done because we are not “old school”. the scene here has changed a lot over the few years ive been involved. im not claiming to be old school because im far from it but its time to realize we are in 2012 and not 1994 haha. its good to keep old cultures alive but stop trying to be something you never were.
me - so i understand youre releasing your debut album “juggernaut” this year, could you give us any details about it?
louie - ok, so we will be releasing 10 tracks of super brutal mosh ;) nah its a mixture of hardcore aggression and metal breakdowns. trying to bring it back to our old demo roots with a bit more catchy parts to it rather than just slow, we understand songs have to have dynamics and structure, we know this wont dissapoint.
mark - JUGGERNAUT is going to be heavy as fuck. everyone that has written us off and said shit about us can suck a fat dick when we release this album. lots of sing a longs and beatdowns. i think there might be a circle pit or two. ;)
me - when it comes down to writing the songs, what is the bands song writing process, and how do the songs usually come about?
mark - i have written most of my lyrics while on the toilet at work hahah, getting paid to write mosh bitches! nah but seriously louie does most of the writing and then puts it together with the rest of the band. then i come in and completely ruin every song with my shitty vocals haha.
louie - pretty much just try to think of different ways to play open and one. fruity loops help me i guess, ill just come up with a riff then build from there, 5 main things to any mosh band - breakdown, 2 step, side to side, circle pit and beatdown. the new stuffs got a lot more beatdown parts and build ups! i dont really have a process just really happens.
me - what was the first song you wrote together as a band?
louie - “my own” from our demo the first time we practiced at my old place, was interesting because trent had only started playing drums! jimmy our old guitarist came up with the beatdown and i came up with the two step, simplest song but kids went off at our first shows!
me - which song are you most proud of and why?
mark - probabley nova 6 from our ep! always goes off at shows and whenever shit talkers see us play it live they usually put their heads down and leave haha!
louie - yeah nova 6 for sure!
me - do you have any upcoming shows/tours in the near future?
louie - we have just been added to fetch touring agency so hopefully that sees us travelling around australia a lot throughout 2012!
mark - yeah fetch will be awesome, so keen to tour!
me - what should somebody who has never seen “endworld” live before expect from your live show?
louie - mosh!
mark - random shit that you wont expect.
louie - we just played a show on the weekend that ended up with everyone stripping naked and moshing in the backyard pool during our last song haha!
mark - yeah even i went in the pool haha, oh and the amount of times that police have been called to our gigs, good times. ;)
me - so what are the overall plans for the band for 2012.
mark - touring, a lot of touring.
louie - we have a new film clip coming out soon!
mark - hopefully we will be able to bring mosh to a town near you. if we do make it to your town please let us sleep on your floor because we are really slack with finding accommodation haha!
me - thank you for your time and for doing the interview!
mark/louie - thanks for all the awesome questions!
